ALL ABOUT IT
We are so excited to offer you our very first distillation of lavender hydrosol! Like all of our hydrosols, we are distilling in a way that focuses on extracting as much of the the water soluble properties as we can. Instead of allowing our lavender to dry for a certain time period so that more essential oils are released, we are distilling immediately after harvesting. This method creates a beautiful hydrosol that smells divine. For this hydrosol we used four different varieties of lavender: grosso, provence, phenomenal, and hicote.

Hydrosols are the heartbeat of our line and, if you are not counting the goats, our farm. This product is 100% from our farm. The ancient act of planting a seed, caring for a plant, waiting for the perfect time to harvest and then immediately distilling it is a gift to the farmer, the distiller, and the person who receives the final product. 
Our copper distilled hydrosols are made in micro-batches with the utmost attention to purity. Small batch distillation is an art as well as a science. It allows the distiller to have complete control of the quality and the authenticity of the plant being distilled. 
In our line this product serves as an optimizer, weaving together every step of your skincare routine. After cleansing, it works to restore your pH. It serves as a gentle toner. Mixed with serums and moisturizers, it speeds absorption while carrying their nutrients deeper into your skin. On its own it works to hydrate the skin. We see it as an essential component of a microbiome friendly skincare routine. 
For your body, use it on itchy skin. Use it in conjunction with our restoration salve for a powerful plant powered first aid. 
 
 
SCIENCE BEHIND IT 
The compounds found in lavender hydrosol offer soothing, redness reducing, anti-microbial, moisturizing, protective, and skin elasticity-improving properties. For our lungs and our minds, it offers a beautiful clarity and recess that comes as a lovely experience morning, afternoon, and evening. 
 
The art of distillation allows us to extract properties, specifically water based properties, from plants that other extraction methods are unable to. Hydrosol is literally the cellular water of the plant and it allows us to directly apply this deep plant goodness to our face and, because it is water based, our skin soaks it up easily.
